It's good value for money, plus not only do they come with a fire cord, you get the added benefit of a cord (I doubt I'll use it, but it's nice to have) and a tinder cord. I bought them to lace up my boots. I ALWAYS have it with me in case of emergencies. I can use part of the line more for an alarm system or a trap than for fishing. I hope I never find myself in a situation where I need to use it, but when I do I'm ready! It definitely makes hiking and camping more fun knowing I have this protection. The fire cord works too! It's nice to know that it catches fire easily, so if I need it, it will work! I would estimate a 6 inch piece will burn for over a minute! watch the video I bought 4 skeins of this material. I also have a jeep! You never know when it might come in handy! UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2020. It took a few weeks to measure and cut, but when I did I found it looked more like 95 feet than 100. Because of this, I've downgraded the estimates a bit. It's still a great rope, just a short one!
