I was excited to get these bags in but as I do with all my Mylar I stick a light in them and see if anything shines through. In this case I ordered the black bags with gusset. I opened the bag and used a streamlight inspection light, only 30 lumens and there were pinhole light spots shining through the seam of the gusset. I usually use a 300-500 lumen Olight but this light is what I had to inspect my flour before bagging. If at 30 lumens light is coming through then imaging at 500. I will say all of the side seams were perfect and no light transmission so if you do buy this product don’t get the bags with the gusset. Aside from that the bags are great quality but I am just picky about things like this so they are not for me. I’m sure I am just being paranoid and pinhole light transmission will probably not affect the food inside but I just can’t take the chance with prices and inflation being so high.
