Works great on the Sony A7R iii

Works great on the Sony A7R iii. Doesn't seem to work on Sony A6000 (very slow autofocus, around 4-5 seconds). Focus speed takes less than a second to lock focus. I noticed that it takes 1-2 seconds to focus when the subject is very far away. Very precise focusing. It works with single-shot autofocus and continuous autofocus. During continuous autofocus, you will hear autofocus noise from the lens autofocus motor. It's quite noisy, but not noticeable unless you're in a quiet area. it disappears after you take a picture. It doesn't focus at the same speed as Sony's native lens. Example: My Sony 24-70 f2.8 takes less than half a second to focus. While a fitted lens shoots at least half a second to a second. When you need that half second. Better use your own lens then. Poor af in low light. Highly recommended if you have Canon glass. Glass I tested on. Canon ef 28 f1.8, Canon ef 50 f1.4, Canon ef 85 f1.8, Canon ef 17-40 f4, Tamron 24-70 f2.8 vc and Tamron 70-200 f2.8 vc.1/28 / 18 UpdateVC does not work with Tamron lenses. Should be off, otherwise the images will be very soft. The stabilizer seems to work. Update 10/12/18 Seems like VC works on Tamron lenses. However, you cannot use it with a lens, otherwise it will result in a random soft image. You have to choose one or the other. Also, with the new firmware version 2 for the A7r iii, all AF modes can now be used with my Canon lenses. Firmware version 2 AF speed seems to help with auto focus speed. Seems a little faster and more accurate. With my Tamron 70-200 2.8 vc mk, I used to get very sick focusing from min to infinity. Now the hunt seems to have eased off a bit.

Pros
  • Supports both optical lens stabilizer and camera shake reduction
Cons
  • No Auto
