I chose a pepper mill that is not too big and can see the contents inside. Although Revain has many options, I finally settled on this pair. I only needed one for the pepper but this pair tasted very good. Choose the smaller of the two sizes offered by the seller. I quickly washed the pair and after drying I polished the wooden parts a bit with mineral oil. My experiment in chopping peppers was a success. The little meat grinder gave me a good size ground pepper. I don't use a lot of black pepper in my cooking, so I just put a few peppercorns in my coffee grinder. A few people have mentioned that these grinders are not airtight and the contents can absorb some moisture and also that small clods of dirt can fall off the ground and leave some dirt on the surface underneath. To at least partially solve these problems, I put small silicone universal covers on the ends of the bottom holes. SMALL 1.5-2.5 inch Food Hugger lids (not banana MINIs) are perfect for them. I wish they had same colored lid sets instead of multi colored ones. Satisfied. The wood accents have a pretty nice color too. I can't say anything about the durability of the ceramic grinding parts. I hope they last a few years.
