I used these LED strip sets (in different colors) to make stick figure costumes for my whole family. There was just enough length in each one to do my 6' husband's costume, and plenty of room to do one for my 4yo. The individual strips detach from the battery pack, so once you've attached them to your garment it's still easy to get the garment on and off (or to get it on or off a sugared-up kid!). We had them on continuously for about three hours for Halloween festivities and the batteries show no sign of running low, so I imagine the battery life is great. I don't think LEDs pull too much energy. When you turn them on the LEDs make a faint, high-pitched whine, but that was only noticeable in our house when it was quiet - while out and about in the costumes no one could hear it, and it didn't seem to bother any of the dogs.I really love these, they're a great way to create a fun Halloween costume on a pretty low budget.
