This Wi-Fi booster is made of durable plastic. It is easy to install and attaches to ceiling, wall or attic joists. We used 3 of them to improve signal strength. One in the attic, one in the garage to cover the automatic generator in the backyard, and one on the pantry ceiling. Each device transmits a full power signal to ensure all of our Wi-Fi devices are performing at their best. We could probably get by with just two, but I doubt we'd get a great performance. I didn't have to consult support, so I can't comment on that. Installation was easy right out of the box. They are slightly larger in circumference than fire alarms, but flatter. They look good on the ceiling but emit blue light.
