Have purchased apple slicers in the past. My one complaint are the handles. Every one of them break eventually. I have arthritis, so cutting apples with a knife can be painful, therefore I use the slicer to reduce the pain. The other slicers only gave me 6 sections though and then I would have to still cut them smaller. This 12 section slicer is perfect for the apples. No additional cutting needed, even for making pies. What attracted me were the metal handles. Not likely to break. It also allows me to use more pressure while pushing through the apple without worrying about a handle. It slices easily and is easy to clean. Usually just spraying it with water cleans it if it's done right away. So far I am extremely happy with this product.
