I'm currently using it in conjunction with the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro and simply use it to increase the number of inputs on my dock, particularly in relation to USB-C. I think a lot of reviewers bought it to provide a cheap, one-stop solution for docking their laptops, and that's not what this device should be used for (but I want to talk about the good first). I wanted to connect two USB-C portable hard drives (Lacie Porsche on Apple's website), but was reluctant to answer other reviewers' questions about power transfer. However, it still works (with power) for my portable hard drives and also gives me two extra USB-A ports that I use for my Logitech mouse and keyboard. I'm very pleased with this product's ability to give me just a few more ports for an already powerful docking station. As for the negative feedback on the Belkin hub in terms of power delivery, display issues, and various other complaints; All I have to say is that these people should do their research. This product is not designed to run the entire set of desktops, it simply expands ports for peripherals such as printers, mice, hard drives, etc. I have to say that given all the negative reviews and misconceptions about this product, I was hesitant to buy it buy my peripherals and basically expand my hard drives. All I can say without going into too much detail is that Intel just released a chip this year that is used to disconnect and daisy chain USB-C devices, and this is the first cheap attempt at doing so. Please do your research as this is not a generic dock building. If you need pass-through power to run your display or even charge your laptop, this isn't the product for you.
