Shaft is fairly clean injection molded with smooth walls in six holes. The top edges of the holes were sharp, so I smoothed them out with a tapered cylindrical grinding wheel mounted in a cordless drill. I also added some felt to the bottom of the cylinder to make it more comfortable to use on a table. IMO both changes need to be made by the manufacturer. The holes are 19.45 mm or 0.765 inches in diameter and 84.6 mm or 3.3 inches deep. The cylinder itself is 71mm or 2.79 inches in diameter and 89mm or 3.5 inches in height, so it's big. The 50's BMG Case based handle must be inserted with the tip/bullet down as the bottom of the 50's BMG Case is too large for the holes. All in all a fun way to hold six pens and/or pencils.
