Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Ora Recovery Slide 2 for Women by Hoka One One by Pavan Pelletier

Strong odor but comfortable

I bought these because the Hoka One One is the only shoe I can wear to deal with arthritis pain in one foot and plantar fasciitis in the other. I would like the slides to be half the size because they're a bit too big for my height, but I'll skip them as they're meant to be recovered from activity. The biggest issue for me was the very strong chemical odor emanating from these sandals. When I opened them I took them out to the back porch and left them out for a couple of days. Then I sprayed them with a hose for half an hour and left them on the lawn for a day. They still smell too strong to keep in the bedroom, so they are kept in the hallway. The smell is now less strong than it was originally and will likely continue to decrease over time, but if I knew how bad it was I would choose a different option. However, they are *very* convenient and easy to use. I put it on when I get up in the morning. I will wear them despite the lingering smell. UPDATE: After a month, the chemical smell has decreased significantly. I don't smell it when I'm wearing them, but I can smell it when my face gets about a foot closer to the sandals. They're still very comfortable - maybe even more so since they've softened a bit. I'll probably buy a second pair and leave them on the back porch for a couple of weeks to air them out before bringing them inside. SECOND UPDATE, a year later: the smell is completely gone at some point and the shoes are holding up incredibly well. In summer they are in big rotation and in spring and autumn I use them as slippers. They are really comfortable and despite the initial smell I would buy them again. They have hardly been worn, have not changed shape and have not stretched like crocodiles.
