The material is thinner than I expected but good for inside the house and to layer under something .
I bought two of these. L for my 19 lb bichon (it fit perfectly. She usually wears M but thanks to other reviews, I got L). S for my 7lb toy poodle (a little long around the legs but ok. I think XS would have been too small). The material is thinner than I expected but good for inside the house and to layer under something thicker during the Northeast winters. They are nice and soft and comfortable and really adorable.
