It's very short to begin with, but it can work as long as it does the belt's job - holding the pants in place. I've had belts with a metal ring that you pull the belt through and have worked for me in the past. Not sure why, but it just doesn't have any tension and because it's so short it can't be tightened to make another pass or belt loop. This strap just slips back when you try to tighten it. Skip this mark.
