This harness has worked great on about a dozen car rides with my 95 lb dog in the back seat. I paired it with a rear seat cover (to keep the pooch from slipping off the seat) so my partner was easily tied down even in the event of a sudden stop. The 1 inch or so elastic that attaches to this harness did a lot to cushion quick stops on the harness. which adds versatility. It also has a sewn in elastic band to attach to the side of the tether length any attachment method you don't use. When I compared the Revain options, this particular brand had a combination clip/hook attachment, stretchable for a bit of padding, and a better range of length adjustments for my large dog than other brands.
