Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Ultimate Water-tight Solution: Schluter Kerdi Pipe Seal Pack Unveiled! by Rene Putman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

good protection from potential problems

I did not purchase this for use in a Kurdi system. I actually use HardiBacker which is covered by Hydroban. It seems logical to me that the most likely place for water to enter behind your system would be running down the wall surface and then past the pads covering the hot and cold pipe inlets. Often the opening around these two holes is too large for a good seal. So the water will most likely flow through these pipe passages and then end up in your wall. The rubber grommet on this product fits my 3/4 inch pipes perfectly and now I can drill the right size holes in cement board and tile without fear of a leak. The only thing I want is that they cost $5. per unit, not twice as much. This is a great solution to a problem some of us don't think about: this glossy pad doesn't even come close to offering water protection.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
