Really blocks heat! The rubberized strips are also a great safety feature as they grip smooth surfaces to pull items out of the stove or microwave. The only reason for 4 stars is that they are pretty tough and you have to work with gloved fingers. I've had them for over a year now and they're still a bit stiff but as they work so well it's worth it! I haven't tried them at 900 degrees but they protect at 450! *** These are knitted gloves however and while safety should be common sense there are some who are unfortunate enough to have everything they need. They will not protect if very hot steam or hot liquids get on the gloves. I just say: I recommend!
