Review on Dorman 931 349 Door Actuator Motor by Brett Bush

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor quality replacement poor value for money

This was the third Dorman door opener I have purchased, all for the same door. One was replaced under warranty so it failed within a year. The other two lasted about two years each. I've since decided to replace them with cheap knockoffs $10-25 each. Since these drives appear to be disposable, at least I know I can use each for a few months for a fraction of the cost of Dorman. If I could find an OEM part I would consider it, except, of course, that the original part's failure prompted this parade of poorly designed replacement parts. I should note that the error is always removing a small plastic gear inside the drive. The cut pieces of plastic then get caught in places that often prevent locking or unlocking the door itself by hand.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
