Review on ⚡ High-Speed Thunderbolt 3 Cable - 6ft / 2m - 4K 60Hz - 40Gbps - USB-C to USB-C - Type C Charger by Francisco Yim

Works well. A little loose.

If you need a 6 foot 40Gb/s cable then the choices are few and this is one of them. It easily handles 40Gb/s for my Dell XPS 15 7590 and a dual DP dock connected to two 4k displays. The port for the Dell XPS 15 is a little lost. On the Lenovo T580 and T590 machines I've tried it on, it's lost and connectivity becomes an issue. On the other hand, Lenovo got it wrong a few times with TB3. A few examples, the T590 only has 2 lines out of 4 connected, the T580 only seems to have 2 lines connected to its multiport, and USB 3 to another USB-C port (usually used for charging) so connection is not possible is two 4k displays via one cable. Also, the multiport devices on the T580 and T590 lose out badly. Even if I position the cable so that the video is not cut off, I have many problems with the keyboard and mouse freezing for a few seconds every few seconds, so I have to connect the keyboard and mouse directory to Lenovo laptops for a comfortable experience to have. Also, Lenovo doesn't boot when the dock is plugged in, so it needs to be plugged in after the laptop boots up. The Dell XPS 15 7590, on the other hand, runs smoothly on all fronts listed here, so I don't think it's a cable issue as Lenovo is phasing out their laptops. While my docking station is rated at 85W compared to TB3. My Dell XPS 15 7590 reports a maximum output of 65W, which is less than the 130W it's designed to transmit through the dedicated charging port. Again, 65W is usually sufficient for most laptops. I could get it to draw some battery power when the TB3 channel was maxed out, but the laptop also overheated to the breaking point, which isn't a good way to handle a laptop if you want it to last a while. I have liquid cooled desktops so I plan on continuing the hard work with these boxes anyway so 65W is fine. Final Verdict: With the right laptop, this cable is good enough for the job. I'm basically knocking off the star because it's a bit loose, which causes problems when other USB-C ports work well enough. It seems that only when the connector on the computer/device is already a bit lost compared to other connectors does this push it over the edge to be problematic. In places where it would normally be snug, the extra loosening doesn't seem to be a problem in stationary use. My goal with this cable is to connect the laptop that's lying on its side to a docking station that's too far away for the passive TB3.
