2-MONTH UPDATE, 09/01/2021 (FOR 36" VERSION, MODEL S09):----- -- ----- ------------------------- The product itself is excellent. I don't mind saying anything. The sound is still great, the remote is like new and very responsive. Absolutely nothing wrong. I like it. My opinion on the sound remains the same - very clear vocals and excellent background detail for this size and price. I purchased the 36" soundbar on 06/21/2021 and received it on 07/05/2021. The product currently listed on 09/01/2021 is a 16" soundbar. My review is not about the 16" soundbar but about the 36" soundbar. I'm sure other reviews written around the same time as my original review also covered the 36" version. Pretty dubious if you ask me. -in subwoofer, Bluetooth 5.0 and optical AUX USB inputs ============================FIRST OVERVIEW:===== == ===== ================== !I'm glad I accepted the lightning offer. Will update if my opinion changes significantly in the future.-- ------ --- ------------------------------------- --- ------ -- --------------- We have a cheap 55 inch chinese 4k tv with no name that has a good bright clear picture but horrible horrible sound .i got my daughter's dormant echo dot and connected it to our Fire TV Stick 4k via our home wifi and we've been using it as our "speaker" for over 6 months. The little Echo Dot has a lot better sound than the TV, but if you have one you know it's not very clear, loud or anything. Even just decent TV speakers would be better than the Echo Dot. It was fine for Youtube anyway, but low volume movies were hard to watch even with the Dot set to maximum. When I received this soundbar today, I immediately disabled the Echo Dot and went to the Alexa app to remove the home theater. The group connected my Fire TV Stick to Dot, plugged in the power cord and optical cable for that soundbar, set the input to optical, restarted the Fire TV Stick, and boom! Much better sound. It's a lot louder, a lot cleaner, and has a lot more bass (by comparison, of course) than the Echo Dot. I didn't turn the volume up because nobody should with new speakers. I would say the overall sound is about 5-10 times better than the Echo Dot. If someone offered me a set of 5" or 6" bookshelf speakers and a receiver for $60, I'd happily buy this soundbar. . But for $60 in real life, I'm happy with this soundbar. And yes, it has SOME "bass". Not true low end bass, but the kind a small midrange driver would reproduce, just enough to let you know there must be bigger bass there. My TV speakers wouldn't reproduce that, but Dot would reproduce maybe 10%.
