I read the reviews and had my doubts about chargers but decided to give it a try. 2 cars (2 walkie-talkies), 7 day trip from California to Tennessee, charging at least 10 hours a day - not a single problem. They stay slightly warm, definitely not hot and don't even reach the melting point of plastic - I tested them every hour for a couple of days. Of course, this can be due to the power consumption, but with a standard rechargeable battery (with charger on the radio tripod) it works without complaint. I have no hesitation in recommending it, but I'll repeat - I used a standard Baofeng BF-F+ battery.
