Patting her on the head worked.
I bought this because my dog is old, blind and deaf. She wandered around a lot and bumped into furniture. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on Halo for blind dogs, but I didn't want her to get hurt either. This worked with just enough padding on the sides that it didn't hurt the head. It also looks warm and well made.
