Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost perfect with one tiny flaw

Ive gone thru SO MANY dashcams recently. The last two being DDPAI models I was really excited for, but BOTH of them died after a single day of use. After this arrived I was paranoid it would end up having issues too, but so far so great. Install was easy, other than the electrostatic film they want you to install between this and your window SUCKS and fell off less than 24 hours later. All three cams are good quality, but the app likes to change the set quality on its own randomly, so I keep having to go back and update it so they record in full quality. The only real complaint I have tho is the GPS speed. It is WAY WAY off for me. At un 40mph actual-speed, it is almost exactly 15mph too high. So if Im going 30, it says 45, for instance. At over 40, its almost 20mph off. I will be going for a long drive tomorrow where for an hour I will be going around 80mph, so will be pretty funny to see the cam report that I am doing probably 115mph ha. Not a huge issue for me tho since I have no use for the MPH readout and have it disabled on the watermark (recommended to do, since a skeezy lawyer or insurance company can use even a tiny amount of speeding against you during an insurance claim and use it to say you were actually the one at fault). But something to note either way since some people will likely want accurate mph readings. Not sure if there is a way I can fix it or if mine is just a dud, havent looked into it because I genuinely dont care.

Pros
  • Car Electronics
Cons
  • The GPS function can sometimes take a while to acquire satellites, causing a delay in start-up time
