First of all this is a really great product and I got it at a great price. My cockatiel loves it but the size (I have a large one) is more suited for a parrot. If I had paid attention to the dimensions (that's entirely up to me, of course, since the dimensions in the description are correct), I probably would have noticed before I bought it that it would be quite small. My cockatiel never fits on the swing. The stairs are quite narrow, but she uses them anyway. All the perches are different sizes, which is good. The rope bar is great and now that she's used to it, she enjoys walking on it. It's not difficult at all so it took her a while to get used to it especially when trying to move on it because she stepped on the plastic toy it was spinning and she was a bit nervous. . This is not a negative, as cockatiels need such tests as they are intelligent birds and need "riddles" so to speak to stimulate their minds. Wood dyes are said to be safe for birds, and they are definitely very colorful. She likes to gnaw on wood like all cockatiels, but so far she seems to be holding up well. The glue works well and keeps everything in place. The shorter piece of wood at the end of the rope isn't glued, which I like because you can slide it up or down the side and either make the rope semi-tight diagonally across the center of the activity or make the rope very stiff. loose and just in front of the activity center so he changes it. PROS: A good sized rope pole for a cockatiel or parrot and soft on the feet. This is a good change from wooden poles. The rope bar is not rigid and therefore puts extra strain on your legs. extra bonus! - Durable. - A variety of perch sizes, although most wooden perches are better suited for a parrot but still work well for a cockatiel. - Entertainment for ornamental birds. - A great way to keep your bird close to you and entertain you outside of its cage. Easy to understand instructions. Corelle LOVES it and will wear it all day. CONS: The swing is too small for the cockatiel. No problem if you have a parrot. - The steps of the ladder are too small for the cockatiel, but they can still use them, so it's not a big deal. - The end part of the tree holding the rope leans a little sometimes, but it didn't fall all the way (at least for now), so again it doesn't matter. It's just annoying that you have to fix it often. One piece of advice I would give for any item you are assembling, especially those that require glue, is to assemble it WITHOUT glue first, make sure everything fits and slides and you know exactly how it works, and then assemble it take it apart and glue it together. This is great if your bird is new and is still getting used to you. My parrot will sit on it for hours. I keep it on my desk while I work and she sits on it for 7-8 hours at a time. She'll probably stick around longer if I let her, and even get upset if I take her away! I like it because it convinces me that she likes it. I'd recommend getting some plastic food bowls (they're usually pretty cheap) or taking them out of their cage while they're the center of activity and placing them on the floor so they have access to food and water . That's what I do and it encourages her to move more so she doesn't stay in one place all the time and I don't have to worry about being hungry or thirsty. I recommend this activity center especially for a parrot. I recommend going for the extra large cockatiel if you can afford it, but if you're like me and on a tight budget (big jump in price between large and extra large sizes), this size still fits cockatiel well. . The problem is mainly the swing as it's too small for a cockatiel, but that's not the end of the world and doesn't detract from other great features. Also, my bird doesn't seem to care about swings. She just plays with everything else and is very happy with it. It was a great and worthwhile purchase!
