I have four children and have tried LOTS of children's cutlery. Plastic (like those from Ikea) will bend and melt after repeated use. The metal sets that you buy as individual sets are very expensive and the tips of the forks are often very blunt, making picking up food very difficult. It's the perfect size (my kids range from 2 to 9 and they all use them) and is very similar to the adult set, just scaled down. The spoons are a good size, the forks are sharp enough to easily pierce food and the knives cut well without being too sharp. I highly recommend this set!
