I've had clover needles in the past and I'm not very happy that the plastic cord doesn't come loose, but they've never broken. In less than a week, one of the wooden ends of the cord came loose, causing me to have to remove many stitches and recover with great difficulty. There was also some difficulty knitting wood on wood with chunky yarn - maybe that's my problem as I've never used chunky yarn before. Backordered ChiaoGoo metal as a replacement - much more expensive but hopefully more durable.
