I'm a real curmudgeon and this is a great product. The materials and shape, well thought-out details and the four-point attachment function make it very stable. The four-point attachment system with flexible straps is much more successful than the clip-on style. My 14 pound pooch fit in just fine, but then I didn't want to ride my bike while my dog shifted his weight in the front basket. I have a feeling she feels more secure if the sides of the basket hug her a little. The soft, fluffy underside of the seat gives her comfort and something to hold onto with her toenails to increase her sense of stability. It is simply a very beautifully designed and successful product. We drove two blocks and first closed the ventilated mesh basket around her neck so she wouldn't try to jump out. We also had them in a harness with an attached clasp. She quickly adopted this method of locomotion (I recommend buyers use both restraint methods first to make the acclimatization period for your pet more manageable). After two blocks, Kokobin felt comfortable and comfortable with this new experience. I never worried that she would jump out and hurt herself. The basket with it was, as stated, very securely fastened. We bought this basket specifically to ride our bikes around the South Rim of the Grand Canyon with Coco. Great success. We look forward to new journeys with Coco on our bikes.
