Review on Genuine Chrysler 68030940AA Locking Gas by Michael Hall

"Every Minute Is Born "

This purchase brought a wonderful PTBarnum moment into my life ("Every Minute Is Born"). All I wanted to do was lock the Chrysler car my boy drove to college, as the car would spend more time in a less secure parking lot. I was looking for a lockable fuel cap for the cruiser and came across this article. It was too expensive (originally $70.03 - now $69.06 and FREE shipping) but I figured it would at least help. What a surprise. The ad said it had to be taken to a Chrysler dealership to have it fitted to a cruiser key. There were NO toggle switches in the lock (no key for that matter) and although it was a Chrysler product it was NOT A CHEAP SOLUTION. When I picked up the finished block that connected to the ignition key, the price included "correct cups, had to grind all 5 cups around the edge to fit, fit the S cup, done" for a whopping total of $88.92 . . THE TOTAL AMOUNT FOR THIS PRODUCT IS $158.95. I asked a few people if they were willing to pay that much for a locking gas cap... and now I'm an idiot. That's too much for an old car. Find another product...unless you really want your ignition key and gas cap key to be the same.
