Awesome steering wheel and pedals, setup can be tricky

Your racing games come alive when you add a quality steering wheel and these pedals. Dirt on PC, for example, has evolved from a marginal mouse/keyboard experience into an incredibly realistic ride. The mechanical feedback is great, the motors have big muscles. The clamps are good enough to secure the wheel to the table but if you can bolt the wheel down for extra strength. The pedals are plastic but carry a fair amount of punishment (metal pedals would be much more expensive and heavier). the game. You should be able to plug in a steering wheel upon purchase, and from that point forward all games should recognize it and use it as standard input without further tweaking. This was far from my experience: - The PC had to install software first, which had to be downloaded to get the latest version. After that there are controls that you have to play around with to make it work in each game, which are usually on some sort of proprietary control panel. Why can't Windows just scrutinize these gaming devices like it does a popular printer, ie plug in drivers for them and configure all the wheels from the built-in standardized control panel? me. I tried to use it and couldn't get it to work - Xbox didn't recognize it as a new control. I looked it up online and several people had problems along the way. They usually fixed the problem by sending the bike back and getting a new one, which isn't an option for me as I'm overseas. (Why you can't just fix this with a firmware update installed on the PC is beyond me.) One particular caveat if you live or travel outside the US: This device is rated at 110V only. This is unacceptable (and dangerous) for a high-end gaming device that you might take with kids on vacation abroad. This is the age of multi-voltage switching power supplies, there is no longer any excuse (other than cost reduction). Bottom line: once you get the bike going properly, it's going to be a SWEET ride.
