My 9 year old and I put this bed together in 15-20 minutes using only the tools provided. (We bought a double size) They come with very clear instructions and a ratcheting allen key which I found SO useful! This made it easy to put the pieces together and if I ever had to take it apart, unscrewing it would require minimal effort. The construction and welding has been very solid and so far she has been very comfortable on it. The only thing I have to say is that the mattress can slip very easily. There is no ledge or edge to hold it in place. They have an adhesive foam tape that you can open to secure the mattress, but we chose not to use that. I have her bed between two walls and the footboard has furniture so it stays pretty much in place. However, be careful if you plan to place it open on two or three sides. In fact, I think it's easier to move the mattress around and tuck the duvet in when she's making the bed. But still. that's something to consider. There was plenty of storage space underneath for trash cans (shorter, 6-9 inches tall, but not big ones). VERY happy with this minimalist bed. This allowed the decor in her room to take center stage. rather than a bulky bed that sticks out. Also, I know this bed can be given to a boy or girl if she ever outgrows it.
