This microwave heating pad is definitely different from the other brands I usually use. shed heat for any period of time compared to another brand. That means I either have to reheat it often or cover it well and open it when it's cool to keep the pets warm. Not very practical in many situations. I've found it expands a lot in the microwave, which scares me a little. The heat doesn't last as long as my regular product. However, I find this to be a handy product in a pinch. . I would probably buy another one but it would be my second choice of the brands.
