I spent more than usual because of the unique design. It's a shoe rack/storage bench/magazine holder in one. When space is limited, I love double or even better triple appointments. Since I moved from a cheap 15€ shoe rack, I was a bit disappointed with the material at first glance. In fact, it's indistinguishable from my cheap one; the grain looks artificial and looks like a cross between chipboard and plexiglass. Also, it's poorly packaged, with some parts floating around freely. The first one I ordered arrived damaged and the second one wasn't better packaged but thankfully arrived safe and sound. The assembly was also quite labor intensive. For the end pieces, you'll insert wooden dowels on one end and small, spring-loaded plastic dowels on the other, designed to snap into place. They didn't click right away. Another problem was that the tool that came with it was too short. to finish the work once the screws have passed the edge. Luckily I had a better option in my arsenal. Finally I was very surprised that there is no recess for the pillow so the only thing holding it in place are the side panels. When opening the storage compartment, you must hold the pillow with your hand unless it is pressed against the wall. I used some velcro strips to secure it better. I also agree with others that the color is pretty bland but at least it goes with everything and suits everyone. However, upon closer inspection, it is exactly as the product photo, looks like a higher quality product at first glance, and is strong enough for "budget" furniture. The directions were relatively clear, if not adequate, and the English was good, but on a few non-critical occasions broke off mid-sentence. And again I really like this particular design; it impresses with form and function that i could not find in the competition.
