When I was looking for replacement filters for my 5 year old Kemore Progressive 25614 Canister Vacuum I had trouble finding the right one. Various websites recommended a rectangular paper filter (model EF-1 or #86889), but the one I pulled out of my vacuum was a thin 5" x 5" square of foam and cloth. what i needed. It's even a double pack! Relatively fast product delivery at an average price. So what's the big mess with the filter? It turns out my vacuum has *two* filters: A replaceable rectangular filter is for the exhaust and fits into the panel on the back of the bin. The rectangular cloth filter (model CF-1 or #86883) is a chamber type filter that fits in the space between the bag compartment and the engine. Kenmore can offer great service to its customers by providing more detailed information about vacuum cleaner replacements/consumables. on their website and include instruction manuals for all vacuum cleaners. My manual is hidden somewhere in boxes with old papers. Think :)
