Cables are difficult to assess. There are no moving parts. They usually don't cause any problems. This one seems well made (and I like the gold ends). I bought this cable because I suddenly experienced a 1 1/2 second delay when playing music from my Mac, meaning the first 1 1/2 seconds of a song (or even a YouTube narration) was just missing . After speaking to Apple, my tech/rep suggested that my USB cable had too much resistance. As it worked fine for many months this seemed unlikely but I bought this cable to reduce that possibility as it is half the length and has gold ends (which should reduce the 'resistance' but very little). I plugged it in when I received it and "thought" the problem was solved on the first listen. But actually nothing has changed. The problem seems more likely to be the DAC on my McIntosh amp (no less). Something you can't expect from a $5,000 amp! But the cable did the trick, and being shorter clears things up a bit.
