It was great in theory. A port expander that not only connects to the side of your MacBook Pro/Air, but also features an SSD slot to provide you with more durable storage space. In theory it was great. In fact, its design is marginal. The SSD bay doesn't even offer a way to mount a 2242 card, you just have to slide it into the slots and close the bay door. The problem is that this makes the connection unstable and after a while (less than 30 days in my case) the SSD spontaneously shuts down when using the computer, even just typing while sitting on the desktop, most likely due to wear and tear and tear at the socket. I tested a separately purchased SSD in an external enclosure and it's fine. But stick it back in this thing and it falls off the desktop again. It's sad that it broke as it's the only port extender of this type I've found. At least it broke before the return deadline.
