
I know there are ways to make half square triangles without a paper template, but having used this product for the past few years, I'd rather do better. Paper tears easily when using a 90 gauge needle and fine stitch. I like fine stitches because I always smooth the seams and not the sides. I've never had a problem with a seam unraveling. I always use thin yarn - for example size 50W. A thinner thread reduces the volume that small stitches give you.
