I like the cooler, it's a bit bigger than expected. Use it on an AMD A8 processor for my child's computer. The contact part of the cooler is smaller than the processor chip, so if the processor fails due to lack of cooling, I'll have to upgrade it to a Ryzen 3 installation. Up to 1/4 inch at the top and bottom of the processor The chips are not covered by the cooling pad. I mentioned the fact that it matches AM3 in the title because I read several reviews that said otherwise. When using a standard radiator base, the radiator clip snaps in nicely without the need for the included bracket.
