I recently purchased a Garmin 4.3" nuviยฎ 3790LMT elsewhere (sorry Revain the price was lower but now I know you have a better way to... Need a mount and still plug in the Garmin power cable needed to receive VHF traffic reports I bought a slightly more expensive mount, the Bracketron PHV-202-BL Grip-It Universal GPS Mount, based on the Garmin seller recommendation Garmin included a Mini-A USB to cigarette adapter for easy plugging in/out, but it adds a bulge that makes the adapter unusable for me (but great for the phone's form factor IF I didn't have a Model T (Traffic) or didn't need this feature I would ignore that long adapter and the included Micro-B (smaller) USB cable to Type -A-USB cable with cigar adapter use you-USB (usually available at Walgreens for only $5). The socket must be very close to reachable with the supplied short cable. See Wikipedia for USB types and measure distances for cable length. So I decided to do the most logical thing - read all the reviews, some of which were very helpful to me - so thanks to everyone who submitted. I didn't want to lose the cup holder to this adapter. The cigarette to lightbulb adapter was my first choice, but the model I was considering used a Micro-B USB connector. Ventilation heat was not a big problem for me. If you are a very careful person, never use a vent setting that emits hot heat when it is cold where the GPS vent mount is. If you're lucky with your vehicle choice, you can disable individual vents. In most cases, condensation from the air conditioning system is not a problem in the dry Rocky Mountains. My Mitsubishi Gallant has strong vents, but I had to move the Akron unit left or right rather than center because of the vent knob. The "spherical" end of the adapter snapped firmly onto the Garmin quick release adapter (with that bulge) and didn't budge in the road vibrations I encountered while driving around town. I still have a very long cable running next to the seat cushion, but that has nothing to do with my opinion of this mount. The price is so low that I am willing to buy it again if I need a replacement. By the way, I found the Arkon GN047 on the Revain website (not Garmin). next search. Find a thin screen protector that easily fits in a shirt pocket; I'm currently using my old Palm TX case. I'm reducing 5 stars to 3. A year later I bought a second one - the first one broke in my luggage. The second started to lose its grip where my 5 inch GPS could fall off after a big hit. I need stronger clamps that won't come loose. I will try GARMIN 010-11952-00 Air-Vent Mount. next.
