The Eton Elite Mini AM FM portable shortwave stereo works great on the bands with a little help on shortwave over a long line. The AM range is pretty good considering how thin this radio is. Decent reception of shortwave with wire. Good local AM reception and decent evening reception. Let's quickly listen to one of the bands. Around the clock. Alarm clock, wake up to the radio. sleep function. locking function. Leather bag. Decent speaker sound. 3VDC input. FM stereo sounds good. what can be added or improved: add some kind of storage. Use a regular LCD. Move the DC input connector to another location. All in all you get a fun package. It may not excel in all categories, but it's a pleasure to own and customize. I love the slim form factor and how good it sounds when playing with my locals.
