As a former firefighter in Austin, Texas with 29 years of experience and an EMT with 36 years of experience, I have performed at least 2 CPRs as part of the Rapid Response Team dozens of times. I have to say that the compression depth feeling feels pretty damn close. As the actual weight after compression must be at least 60 pounds. The internal feedback device not only measures the right depth, but also the required rhythm. Be sure to purchase a mannequin with an internal feedback device. If you are an AHA trainer, a feedback device is a must. Another "inside information" I share with my students. How do you know you've reached the required 2" depth? Push as deep as you can. Unfortunately, most compressors don't compress deeply enough. Did!
