I like the fact that this item is made of aluminum and doesn't weigh too much. I keep such devices in my "pack bag" along with my breathing belts, other braces, and discharge-related items. So the slightly lighter weight makes lugging around my rescue kit a little less painful. I have a full size 3/4 ton diesel pickup that weighs 7300 pounds alone. I need something more durable than a regular jeep. My bungee bungee strap is worth 30,000. So the shackles and everything else should be worth at least 30k. At least it fits on paper. The bow itself is made of very durable steel. Bigger than most restraints, which is a good thing. However, I am skeptical that the receiver adapter is rated for 32k tear strength as it is aluminum which is what I wanted. However, it did a great job of pulling a fully loaded 1 ton pickup with a trailer recently pulled out of the sand. The pretty red color makes it easy to find if I drop it in the dirt. If you leave it in the hitch, it'll look good until someone steals it. I'm not sure what the black plastic cover over the temple is for. Maybe to keep it from rattling when you leave it in your truck? Mine sloshed and broke the first time I used it. I think I should have put it down first. It snaps in and out easily. Don't let the name "Gear America" fool you. This material is not made in the USA or anywhere in North, Central or South America. However, the quality is as good as it gets. I recommend it.
