The Sun Cap Fishing Wide Brim Outdoor Protection Hat is surprisingly lightweight and cool. It can be worn without the veil as only a hat or the veil can be snapped on. It is, of course, excellent protection from the sun but I use the hat portion to keep the hot sun off of my head and the veil to keep insects off of my face. When I am fishing on the Shenandoah River, there is nothing worse than trying carefully cast a lure and catch a fish while distracted by mosquitoes buzzing around my face and ears. Then, on a bright sunny day, pine flies buzz down on my face and leave welts when they bite. Both of these situations are managed by this hat and veil. It also makes a nice, cool hat to wear when mowing the lawn.
