I have an iPad Air (with Apple Pencil 2) and an iPad Mini (with Pencil 1) and they work great but cost $100. Every once in a while I lose my pencil for a few days. This is a great throwback. It is very inexpensive and requires no electronics. You have to press hard. I very often read Kindle books (documentation) and PDF articles on my iPad and I am constantly making notes or marking things in them. uncomfortable finger. The stylus is very good for marking. One difference: With the PDF program and the Apple Pencil, it knows that the pencil is for "writing” and the finger is for "moving pages”. This separation of functions does not exist with a stylus. (The stylus alone stands out, and maneuvering with two fingers at once is a page turn.) There are about six or eight spare nibs in a box of two pens. When I opened the box, a few of them jumped out and rolled or disappeared on the floor, so be careful. They probably fell off the shell during transport and looked like jumping beans. This is new so I don't know how long the tips will last but I think with daily use they will last quite a while.
