I have many, many spools of thread, inherited my sister's collection and have my own too. These stands are great. The spindles are long enough to hold two small spools or, if you prefer, one large and one small spool. I have 3 racks up and haven't decided where to put the 4th yet. I also hung a pair of scissors and a measuring tape on the bottom row, they are very easy to reach and they are at eye level. The navy blue color is eye-catching, and while the metal isn't too heavy, it's good enough for the luggage racks. I had no problems with the installation. would recommend.
