This fits the back of my back seat and has room. I moved 900 miles away with my two fat cats and they were fine with a small litter box and their blankets. No insert to make a hard floor - it's made to sit on the floor or car seat. I used her carrier to carry her to the car and loaded her into this transport case that was already installed in my car. Don't try to move it with your pets in it - the bottom will likely tear at the seams. It twists in a spiral to keep it horizontal - but it took me some effort to get everything into place. But no problem - just fiddle with it for a few minutes. Overall I am very happy with this kennel. He did exactly what he said and I have no complaints.
