UPDATE 11/01/2019 As others have noted, the 'retractable knot' drain seems to be somewhat lacking - it wobbles in the top position, sits at an angle and doesn't want to stay open, though it is hit, it will fall. In the down position it can be rotated to seal, although I haven't tested that it seals well. Others have complained that it doesn't seal, but I'm pretty sure they don't twist it to engage the threads that hold the seal. I have ordered another one thinking it was a defective item but it seems to be a design flaw as they are all like that. 10/26/2019This old lady is thrilled to have found this without affecting all the plumbing supplies in the area and will probably still turn up empty handed or spend many times more than Amazon. Worked great on an old 1957 tub. The drain was 1.5" the plumber said it didn't fit so I removed the plastic grommet and installed it myself. RTFM guys! The included washer will NOT fit between the threaded drain fitting and the tank, but will fit between the tank drain and the drain. Pipe Under Pan Use plumbing putty under the edge of the threaded portion of the drain.
