No matter how hard I try, I can't get them to fit my ear snugly.

Headphones need to fit snugly on the ear to produce good sound. I have a box full of dozens of different earbuds and none of them allowed me to fit them properly in my ear so I can't use them functionally. At best they lie loosely against the ear, but more often than not they want to fall out under their own weight.
