When I first learned about the ingredients in this product, I was told that its benefits were 'discovered' when someone noticed the product being used by stable hands to dress horses' hooves after exercise or re-shoeing to massage very unusually strong nails. I don't care if the story is true because this remedy WORKS! I haven't used gloves for dish washing or quick yard work and my nails have suffered - lots of chipping, cracking etc. I've been using Healthy Hoof for a few months now and I'm noticing a difference - compared to before I can get my nail crease on my nail stick and remove the layer, like an onion, now they're gone. Other brands are available but they only offer small jars of this stuff. Gena Labs started making this size and I'm in heaven. My routine is to apply a coat of a heavy top coat (clear coat), wait for my hands to dry, and then massage my nails with that area for a few minutes. I then cover my hands with disposable kitchen gloves for about an hour to ensure the product is absorbed. I change the top coat about once a week, but I use the cream twice a day, not always with gloves. If you have such a problem (especially during a very long pregnancy, after pregnancy or after menopause), then this remedy is for you! You will not regret it.
