I bought this for my son to play with and explore the radio. Strong signals are good, but moving doesn't keep them clean. Also, if you put the radio on a table you are no longer part of the antenna and you lose that transmitter. This reduces the usefulness of the portable radio. The radio has a fairly loud speaker, but its depth of sound is expectedly limited. I thought it had shortwave capabilities but it doesn't. The sticker showing the setting is very approximate - it's really just a suggestion. The radio body is plastic and feels cheap - poor quality and does not help reception as it is not metal. Overall I'm disappointed but for $8 I'm not surprised at the poor quality.
