One of the reasons I bought the A7C was its small size. As I shoot a lot of video I would like the camera to be both caged and with a top grip. So I bought a great SmallRig cage for the A7C and this top grip. In almost every way this is an excellent pen. Build quality is what you would expect from SmallRig, meaning it's reliable. The L-wrench you need to attach the handle attaches to the side of the handle with magnets, which I like. That's what SmallRig does with much of their hardware, and I applaud them for it. There's nothing worse than trying to find the right key size. It seems to be the size of this camera and would be an idea for any APSC sized device, especially the Sony A6xxx series. There is only one thing stopping them from getting 5 stars. It's about 1/2 inch or 1 inch shorter. My hand, not HUGE but not quite small, just not very comfortable on that grip. If it was a little longer it would be perfect. I think I'll make an ARRI style monitor mount for this front mounting hole so I can wrap my index finger around this part like I'm trying to do in the last test image. I do not regret the purchase. This grip looks great on my small setup and I think by attaching this front monitor mount I will feel much more comfortable holding it in my hands.
