Review on πŸ”’ Havit Bluetooth Number Pad: Portable Mini 26-Key Wireless Numeric Keypad for Laptop Desktop, PC, Surface Pro, Notebook – Rechargeable and Ergonomic (Black) by Randi Hernandez

Slim, works well with input devices

I bought this for my Surface GO because the original Micro*oft keyboard died too soon - probably due to the failure of the ribbon cable powering the keyboard/mouse provided. Since I mainly use GO to read e-books? I really missed the right arrow key to go to the next page. Why is the Kindle app so clunky and poorly written UI? The use of the keyboard is mandatory. I was about to get a third-party replacement keyboard, but instead I saw this small, inexpensive Bluetooth keyboard. Anyway, I have a nice heavy canvas carry case for my GO. I tested a USB keyboard and it worked great for page navigation: press the 6 key to go forward, the 4 key to go back, and so on. Some people may not know that the numeric keypad can be used as a set of cursors, including page up, page down, end, home, and 4 arrow keys. The Kindle app recognized 6 as ahead, which honestly surprised me (like I said, the app sucks for PC. If I didn't already have over 1000 Kindle books?) Anyway, that little Bluetooth arrived and it took a while to assemble Seconds - nice Blue light indicated it was paired. I like the lack of a bulky USB cable + adapter (GO only has USB-C). Besides that? It is rechargeable and has an on/off switch to turn off the power during transport. I haven't charged it since the first charge and it's going strong. Turn on the device, the blue indicator flashes, turns on and off again - the connection is established. Press the 6 key to navigate through the pages in the Kindle app. My only complaint is that all the keys feel identical: so I applied a small dab of simple glue to the center of the 6 key for tactile placement of the fingers. Corrected. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if I lost this one, especially if it was under $20.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
