2006 GMC 1500hd. 225,000km. During the operation of this car I have changed the 4WD power button 4 times. Usually they solved the problem for a year, sometimes for 6 months. I read a lot of forums along the way and thought it might be a grounding issue causing all the problems. It became unbearable to let the transfer case slip into neutral at any moment, especially when you're climbing a mountain at 70 mph in Tennessee. This part was easily installed by my mechanic and all is well. Now everything works, 2wd, 4wd, awd. I read the instructions, watched the installation videos, was sure I could have done it myself but decided against doing it with my tilt drive and didn't want to be a bystander in my impasse. Good part, great setup, great results. I will be returning the gasket and new 4WD derailleur as I didn't need them this time.
